BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts has been raking his last 11 games--a .366 average, .829 slugging percentage, four homers among his nine extra-base hits, 20 RBI, and 11 runs.

It's no surprise Boston's won 10 of those games. Skipper Alex Cora's enjoyed watching.

"We know that Xander can hit .300, he can go the other way whenever he feels like it, but now he's trying to do damage, that's the most important thing," Cora said. "The thing with him, he's so good with two strikes, that he will put the ball in play. And in an era where they pitch up in the zone, that's where he gets them. I don't know how many home runs he has with two strikes, but he's looking to do damage."

Red Sox have won 12 of 13, and their next 10 games will be against opponents with losing records. Tigers have dropped six of seven.
