WATCH: TV Reporter Gone Viral for Exaggerating

A Weather Channel reporter by the name of Mike Seidel has gone viral on social media after he was reporting live in Wilmington, North Carolina near where Hurricane Florence made landfall. In the live report broadcast on television it appeared as if the reporter was struggling to keep his balance, shifting his position to brace himself against the wind gusts coming at him. It wasn't until you seen two people in the background casually walking by that you realized the reporter was over exaggerating.

The Weather Channel eventually issued a statement defending its reporter, saying he was standing on wet grass and “exhausted.”

“It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background  are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted,” the network said in a statement.

Florence, which is now a tropical storm, is causing extreme flooding in many areas of the Carolinas and has killed at least seven people.

Below is a video of the live report so you can be the judge!
