In my first year of marriage, my wife Regina took a big gamble.
She was going to allow me to "attempt" to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the two of us.
We could've easily gone to see family for the holiday, but we chose to use this time to bond as a couple.
Then I asked my wife. "What size turkey do I need to get?"
Regina: *blank stare*
I knew I was in trouble. Regina did the smart thing and got our first year turkey catered. I won't say it saved the marriage, but it did save me from being laughed at every Thanksgiving moving forward!
In fact, in Year Three..I did the entire spread from scratch and no food poisoning!
