Yesterday, Billionaire Robert F. Smith announced at the commencement speech of Morehouse College's class of 2019 that he is creating a fund to pay off student loan debt of the nearly 400 graduates. This is incredible because I have always been a believer that students who take out loans for education and complete that education have paid off that loan. Education in this country has always been available to a few, but many need financial assistance to complete their studies. As an HBCU alum, I fully understand the challenges of overcoming perceptions, expectations, and more. These students have one less burden to face...student debt heading into the workforce.
