Alexis Ohanian released a touching new video in honor of his wife’s first grand slam final since she first gave birth to their daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. last year.
Their daughter was born by cesarean section due to fetal distress, and Serena developed blood clots in her lungs as well as a pulmonary embolism. As a result, she had to undergo a series of medical procedures, and as she put it, was "literally fighting for her life."
Her husband tweeted:
"She fought for her life, for our child, for recognition, for equal pay, for women's rights. She never gives up," Ohanian wrote on Twitter. "I had this made for @serenawilliams last night after her match with some home videos from 1 year ago this week. Help me make sure she sees it!#iloveyouserena."
