BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An early spring nor'easter is sweeping across Massachusetts on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing rain, sleet, and snow for some places across the region.
The rain and sleet that began on Wednesday morning and afternoon is the "leading edge" of this nor'easter, reported AccuWeather. There were bouts of rain throughout Wednesday afternoon, and the wind will continue to get stronger as the day goes on.
On Wednesday, AccuWeather explained that reports of hail in parts of the Commonwealth, like Medford, are most likely sleet since "they look pretty much the same." And hail typically comes with thunderstorms, which were not happening on Wednesday.

The temperature will remain around 45 degrees and will probably not become any warmer than that, and it will begin fall as Wednesday goes on.
There are high wind warnings in effect Wednesday night through Thursday morning, reported AccuWeather.
Wednesday night will see sustained winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour near and along the coast. It might gust up to 60 miles per hour or higher in the Cape and the islands into Thursday morning at the height of the storm.
In Boston, AccuWeather said that overnight on Wednesday, there will be heavy rain with a mix of sleet and snow.
There will be mixed precipitation in the north and west suburbs outside of the city, which may turn into mostly snow with temperatures in the mid 30s.
The mixed precipitation is changing to mostly snow northwest of I-495 late on Wednesday.

The AccuWeather report predicted that on Thursday, the Cape, the islands, and Boston will continue to have rain mixed with sleet and snow.
Northwest of I-495, the snow will continue into Thursday.
By Thursday night, AccuWeather said that the storm will start to pull away and Boston might see a little more snow, but it will not amount to much in terms of accumulation in the city and the surrounding suburbs.
The rain and snow might continue into Thursday night, but it will taper off as the storm passes.
One to three inches of snow are expected near I-495, and up to six inches of snow are expected in more northern areas closer to New Hampshire.
AccuWeather added that coastal flooding "is a concern too," especially with winds potentially reaching 60 miles per hour. They said to expect up to three or four feet of inundation at high tide.
